Ulster & Delaware RR

Through Grand Gorge

BACK TO
HISTORY

The Ulster & Delaware's first train arrived at milepost 65, Grand Gorge, on August 8, 1872. The railraod was important to the area as it brought tourists to the mountains and milk and farm products to the city. Many hotels and boarding houses opened in Grand Gorge. Stage connections could also be made for hotels in Gilboa and Prattsville.
